Points cover prototype

Milled out some shit last night, some of it was a points cover that I designed for a sporty.  After making this I decided to change the bolt pattern to left and right and tweak the program a bit to smooth out the tooling .  I gave this one to Papa bear for his aluminum sporty.

Finished making my frame connectors

I still need to weld it all up but you get the point.  I'm pretty happy with the way they fit and after they are welded I plan on making some cross supports that I can mount my coil to etc.   I should have done this in the first place but hind sight is always 20/20.

Me, me- me- me- meee

Still working on stuff.     The iron headache tins should be ready to wet block tonight and if they are solid I will start hosing them with the blackness.

Video of my mill cutting out a....

upper triple clamp blank that I made for that CB550 that I posted the other day.   Time is sped up here, I'm not anywhere near this fast.   Total cut time was about a hour and 25 minutes.
sorry for the text in the middle, its a freeware thing for joining AVI's together..

Ford Racing Trans Tags

I'm working on these for Ford Racing.  These are just production samples .  I think their intent is to anodize them blue either before it is engraved or after ,  we will see.  The tag will rivet onto the Cobra Jet transmissions.

Virago Cafe Racer Upper Triple Clamp

In spite of all the paint work I was doing this weekend, I found time to get this triple tree done.
There is some debate of the cleanability of the pockets .  I have a couple of spots like this on my turbo bike and I will say they are hard to get a rag into but then again, they are hard to get dirt into. They hose out nice when you wash it and I like the machined surface contrast to come through.

Big Red is back in business

New thrust bearings and a new counter balance system lets me tighten up the Gibbs to increase accuracy and speed with consistency . The added lubrication system should give me many more years of service. I should have cleaned it , oh well.

My Mill Is Still Down

I had some trouble with my machining center so a rebuild was in order. I have everything replaced and I have remote grease fittings added to keep it going for the rest of my life. Now I just need some friends with muscles to help reassemble it.

Heavy Metal

Mini-b took a visit to Greenfield Village over the weekend and snapped some pictures of awesome.
Old machinery is one of those things that they really don't make like they used to. Sometimes you can find old solutions to new problems that just make sense when you use and look at it. Old machinery is art as far as I'm concerned.
After saying this , My 1940's mill that I converted to CNC is on the fritz, I need to tear it down and replace a thrust bearing in the knee because my servo is no longer strong enough to move it consistently. It is allot of work to tear into the knee but the part should be inexpensive and I should get another 70 years out of it as long as I can get some sort of remote lubrication gizmo on it. In the mean time I don't have to time free to dig into it and I need to use the damn thing, not to mention my summer is burning and I want to get out and ride my bike. Very frustrating.

Fresh off the mill

Twin Cam points cover. Whittled out 6 of these for Shawn this weekend without any drama. They get polished after this step then I can ship them. Shawn numbers these and installs one on every motor he mods. If you want a custom points cover for your V twin steed, just drop me a line.

Cool Shock Spacers I Made Last Night

Made these last night to stiffen up the rear springs on a 80's cb750. They add another 13mm to the stiffness . Basically doubles the spring adjuster for the round fellows like myself.

Custom Points Covers

Making these for a local engine builder. They get pretty affordable if you order a bunch of them.

I'm also working on some moto nisto signs for Marcel. should be nice.
