Smokey and the bandit

My daughter getting a ride in her dream car last weekend,  she was pretty excited and it didn't make her want one any less.
Happy Independence day to all my American brethren!   Also today is my 5th anniversary, seems like just yesterday when Elvis hitched us on a steamy 120° day in the middle of the desert with a Etta James cover pushing a tear into your eye.  It was pretty fuckin beautiful.

Super Awesome !

A couple weeks back, my shop computer crashed and I had lost years worth of parts that I developed and I was super bummed but I didn't give up.   I bought this cool USB to ATA cable on eBay and plugged it into various computers without much result.  The Mac was the money shot and I was able to recover 100% of my project files.  I'm super stoked, now I can make Marcel his tags and I have all the data from the sportster rear-sets and countless other parts.  Yesterday was a pretty awesome day.

Use to have one of these

A little Guzzi I used to ride it to high school.    This is the first one I've ever seen on the Internet.    I would of never gotten rid of it had I known how rare and how much I would miss it.  I have heard that the guy that I traded it off to still has it and if I see him I will certainly make a offer.

Still looking for this guy

The search for animal chin.
I was watching the bike thing on the Blood falcons blog and it reminded me of this super cool skater movie.  My friends and I all gathered around a 23 inch TV with a giant VCR underneath for a while then we went on a mission to build ramps and look for a 59 Cadillac to saw the fins off of .

Scooter Power!

Tricked out my daughters scooter for her. It was all lime green with silver trim before I hot rod blacked it out and did some sloppy green striping on it yesterday. She is pretty happy with it and I wont feel as lame when I'm doing beer runs on it.

2013 Cobra Jet

Sweet stuff happening at my day job as well. This thing was parked outside my office awaiting pickup today. I snagged a shot with my phone when I was on my way by it for lunch.

PBR

I took the Honda to a bike show right on the river in Wyandotte Michigan on Friday. The PBR bike had ribbed aluminum wheels on it and I had never seen a ribbed 21" . had a evo in it but it was done on a old school frame and front end. I gotta say, it was pretty nice. The turbo Honda took best custom bike and brother Stu took best paint with his land yacht that we built about 5 years ago. A older guy with a 65 Harley sprint won best of show. It was restored to perfection and he well deserved the award.

Henry Ford's State Of Mind

Every once in a while I run across a great quote, and allot of my favorites are usually from ole Henry . Having been a resident of Dearborn 90% of my life plus being surrounded by Ford Motor Company and its history, these quotes make me proud to be where I am. Please check them out.

Words of success by Henry Ford

I am looking for a lot of
men who have an infinite capacity to not know what can't be done.
Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal.
When everything seems to be going
against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.
Quality means doing it right when no one is looking
You can't
build a reputation on what you are going to do.
One of the greatest
discoveries a man makes, one of his great surprises, is to find he can do what he was afraid he couldn't do.
Chop your own wood, and it will warm you twice.
It has been my
observation that most people get ahead during the time that others waste.
If
money is your hope for independence you will never have it. The only real security that a man will have in this world is a reserve of knowledge, experience, and ability.
Nothing is particularly hard if you divide it into small jobs.
There is one
rule for the industrialist and that is: Make the best quality of goods possible at the lowest cost possible, paying the highest wages possible.
An
idealist is a person who helps other people to be prosperous.
A
business that makes nothing but money is a poor business.
If you
think you can do a thing or think you can't do a thing, you're right.
Don't
find fault, find a remedy
There is
joy in work. There is no happiness except in the realization that we have accomplished something.

Detroit skyline from Cobo roof

I went to Autorama in the D this weekend and this is the only picture I took.
It's no secret that I am a horrible photographer so you can imagine that this view was pretty breath taking.

Cool , Cobra Jet thingy

Ford Racing gave me one of these yesterday, super cool way to butter us up for the next batch of 2011 CJ's.
I picked up my 5.0 yesterday and it exceeds my expectations. Ford has made a true modern muscle car with the charm of the classics and the drivability of modern sports car.
