stuff

picking this up today, bitter sweet because I had to trade the Mustang in to do it.    I loved my mustang but I can't get a bike into it and the weather here hasn't helped either.  None the less, I am excited.

Meanwhile, at the office...

or 10 meters outside of my office  really.
2014 Cobra Jet  and various other mustangs in the background.
Its my wife's birthday today and she hasn't let me out in the shop or on the road for the past few days so I really don't have much else to post up here.
I did manage to rip the ton on the GSXR down telegraph rd. last night for a 10 min steam blow off ride but that's about it.

Before and after dyno data and video of the run

So the power shown above is at the rubber  and is the final run and cal for the racing H-pipe that we are developing.  37.5 hp gain at the wheels puts me roughly at 460 at the crank.  With a few more simple screw on  parts, we plan on cracking 400 on the dyno.  That is about 500 hp at the crank of no engine mod , fuel economical, bolt on in your driveway in a couple hours power.    Uncorking the 5.0 Coyote, most fun at work that I've had for a long time.

Day job coolness

Using my Mustang on the dyno to get a stock engine/exhaust base line.  353 hp at the rear wheels.  After the tune and pipe, we are shooting for 400+ we will see.

this just in, Just ran the pipe without tune .  389hp
I will get a video of it .

This thing is a V6 Grand National With a Turbo the size of a jet engine. It just made 1600 hp on the Dyno.   Stupid power!  Power per Liter @ 4.3L ( could be 3.8 )  = 372 HP   .
What I'm shooting for in my Kaw is power per liter = 377.     That goal seems almost doable now.   Kaw = DOHC  That monster above still has push rods and is making 1600.

Mustang alley today

More of my day job

we had over 300 people come through today.  Alot of cool mustangs in the parking lot from people coming and going throughout the day.  I mostly hid in my office hunched over my keyboard like it was made of money or something that I wasn't willing to share.
Check out the racing division of my " day job" here: Watson Racing
fyi, the top 2 picture are not mine if it matters.

Nothing really

I have the Mustang power tour taking a tour of my day job today and I hope to get some photos of cool stuff that may take place.   I will post something before the end of the day.
I rode the Turbo bike into work today and it seemed to not run so awesome.  I will go out there and fuck with it on my lunch break. My guess is a piece of poop stuck in the carb again.   When I built the fuel tank I used some fancy new sealer that was supposed to hold up to race fuel and alcohol but I keep seeing tiny flakes in my primary filter and I accidentally broke my secondary in line filter when I was putting it back together.  I'm still thinking of converting it over to E85 and I'm almost positive that my adjustable main jet Bendix that I have will accommodate the extra fuel requirement just by turning the screw.  I need to put a better flowing fuel system on it though. it is questionable as it is now.

Cobra Jet 7.50 ET cage

Stuff that is going on right outside of my office at my day job.
All of the chassis is being build by a most excellent fabricator , Frank Lamborghini .  He has a pretty cool name too!  Frank is a member of the Dead Last Car club and has a few hot rod projects of his own as well.

Cobra Jet 2013 or FR500S

Been doing some top secret work for Ford Racing out of my shop for the last couple of months now. I can finally make it a little public.

The intake manifold on this bad boy 5.0 is actually a 3D printed prototype that they are both testing and showing. I had the opportunity to do the paint and stripe work on it as well as 2 other variations of it and some wheels that I painted hot rod black just last week for the show in Florida.

Its neat to do business with big companies like this, takes a little while to get paid though.

Want

Black chrome wheels for the Mustang. I have the same wheels but they are painted a boring silver color that looks like plastic hub cap material, These are super rad.

Cool , Cobra Jet thingy

Ford Racing gave me one of these yesterday, super cool way to butter us up for the next batch of 2011 CJ's.
I picked up my 5.0 yesterday and it exceeds my expectations. Ford has made a true modern muscle car with the charm of the classics and the drivability of modern sports car.

I pick it up today, Fingers crossed

So I'm pretty excited and waiting for their call. The salesman has been super cool about dealing with me ( I am pretty anal when it comes to how I want my shit) . He has been sending me the teaser photos and communication has been a breeze. If you looking into a Ford and near the 313 then I suggest dropping in .

My Mustang is almost ready

My dealer sent me this from his iPhone yesterday . They still have to put on my window louvers , side scoops , hood scoop and grill before I take delivery. I'm totally stoked even though I ordered it 2 months ago.
